    Xiaomi today launched the Redmi 2 and there was a surprise there as well. We got to see the 16 GB Mi Pad at the event. What's unbelievable is the price, the 16 GB Xiaomi Mi Pad which has announced last year will be available in India starting March 24th for just Rs. 12,999. For that you get a 7.9-inch (2048x1536 pixels) display at 326 PPI with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, running on a 2.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad-core processor, 192-core Kepler GPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB expandable storage and MIUI 6 customized for tablets based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

    Let's take a breath. Yes, all this for just Rs. 12,999. But there's more, you also have a 8 MP rear camera with Sony BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a 5 MP front camera. The battery here is pegged at 6700 mAh which will give it ample juice for a full days worth. The new Mi Pad comes with expandable storage up to 128 GB.

    Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as USB OTG. The Xiaomi Mi Pad will be available starting March 24th on Flipkart without the need of registration, so no flash sales at Rs. 12,999.
