Vivo V7+ Preview - Detailed Specifications, Features, Images and Pricing
Vivo is all set to launch its new V7+ smartphone in India. Thanks to Amazon.in, the specs, pricing, and images of the Vivo V7+ are now available.
Vivo V7+ - Specifications
The Vivo V7+ packs a 5.99-inch Full-View 18:9 aspect ratio display (720x1440 pixels), similar to the LG G6 but at a far lower resolution. Essentially it's just a 720p display which has been stretched lengthwise. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass. It runs on the Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This is a new entry-level chipset from Qualcomm running at a higher frequency than the Snapdragon 435, but offers similar performance. Android 7.1 Nougat with FunTouch OS 3.2 takes care of everyday tasks.
It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage which is expandable with a dedicated memory card slot. Vivo has always catered to the selfie generation, and for them, the front camera has now been upgraded to 24-megapixels, up from 20MP on the Vivo V5. At the back, you have a more modest 16MP camera with faster autofocus and f/2.0 aperture lens. The device is capable of capturing 1080p video with both the front and rear cameras.
Just like other Vivo flagship devices, the company has added a HiFi audio chip inside the V7+ as well, the AK4376A. This is supposed to increase sound fidelity and improve audio both over the speaker as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack.
There is an enhanced beauty mode available as well, dubbed Face Beauty 7.0 which is supposed to bring out natural looking selfies even in low light. The V7 Plus is equipped with a triple card slot, so you can use two SIM cards along with a microSD card slot, no hybrid business here. Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi, GPS and FM Radio. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone as well. All this is powered by a 3225 mAh battery which is non-removable. Sadly, the Vivo V7+ still makes use of a micro USB port and not USB Type-C. There is no word on fast charging.
Vivo V7+ - Design
The Vivo V7+ does look stunning with the tall display and metal build. The antenna lines too have been made thinner and take up very little space at the top. Unlike the unsightly thick bands at the top and bottom, the V7+ has thin lines which add to the design of the phone. The sides of the phone are rounded which would make it better to hold.
The volume rocker and power button can be found on the right of the phone and they are both made of metal. While on the left you have the triple slot for SIM and memory card. The square fingerprint sensor is located at the back of the phone, where it seems to be reachable easily. Something even Samsung was unable to do with the S8 and the Galaxy Note8.

But the display here is the highlight. It covers almost the entire front of the phone with thin chins at the top and bottom. The side bezels are really thin as well at just 2.15 mm and this gets the Vivo V7+ a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4%.
The matte black variant of the phone looks great in person and all this is packed in just an 8mm thin shell.
Vivo V7+ Cameras
The V7+ packs a 24MP front camera and comes with a portrait mode which allows you to blur the background and adds more contrast to your face. This is of course done digitally, as there is no secondary camera to capture depth information. The rear camera too boasts of faster autofocus and larger aperture for better photography.
