Twitter and Vine now allow 140 second video uploads
Twitter now allows you to upload 140 second videos, up from the earlier limit of just 30 seconds. The support for the new longer video uploads should now be available on iOS, Android and Web but would later arrive to Desktop apps.
Vine is also beta testing 140 second video uploads and the videos will now play in full-screen mode, same on Twitter as well to increase engagement and also show related videos/tweets.
Videos have been seeing a massive resurgence on social media, with Twitter saying that video views on Twitter have increased by 220 times from the end of 2014 to the end of 2015.
Twitter said in a blog post:
Starting today, you'll have more room to unleash your creativity on Twitter. Where previously, uploaded videos were limited to 30 seconds, now anyone can create video Tweets up to – you guessed it – 140 seconds long. (Select publishers will continue to be able to post videos up to 10 minutes long through our professional publisher tools.)
