There is a third member in the Moto G4 family, the smaller Moto G4 Play
Alongwith the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, Lenovo has also announced the Moto G4 Play for some regions. This possibly won't be coming to India.
The Moto G4 Play is a budget oriented device, packing a smaller 5-inch 720p HD display compared to 5.5-inch 1080p display on the other Moto G4/G4 Plus variants. Moreover instead of SD 617, the G4 Play runs on Snapdragon 410 with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage.
It also runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow without any bloat, and has a 2800 mAh battery. Lenovo has packed an 8MP camera on the back of the Moto G4 Play alongwith a 5MP front-camera. The design here is similar to its bigger brothers with a flat back and a slightly bulging camera module.
Moto G4 Plus Hands-on and First Impressions
The G4 Play also comes in black and white colors but there is no word on pricing. It would be available later this summer. The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are priced quite well, but it seems the G4 Play may take the place of the Moto E in the 2016 line-up for some regions. So, what are your thoughts on the other Moto G4?
