Sony Xperia 1 VI launched Globally with 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED 120Hz LTPO display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, New telephoto camera
Sony has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VI (pronounced Mark 6) in the Global Market during an online event as anticipated. It features a 6.5-inch FHD+ LPTO display with a refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and a touch scanning rate of 240Hz, sporting a 19.5:9 aspect ratio compared to the 4K 21:9 aspect ratio screen of its predecessor. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with 12GB of RAM, the phone incorporates vapor chamber cooling for enhanced performance.
The Xperia 1 VI maintains its 52MP rear camera with an Exmor T lens and Zeiss optics, offering a focal length range from 24mm to 48mm. Additionally, it includes a 12MP 16mm ultra-wide camera, while introducing a new 12MP periscope telephoto camera with a focal length range from 85mm to 170mm for up to 7x zoom. Telemacro support is provided with a maximum magnification of approximately 2x and a minimum focus distance of 4cm, even without a dedicated macro lens.
Sony integrates AI technology into the rear camera, enabling it to recognize the human skeleton and ensuring precise autofocus tracking, particularly in challenging shooting conditions where potential obstructions may hinder subject visibility, as stated by the company.
The device boasts Full-Stage stereo speakers, Sony's proprietary 360 Reality Audio, and is tuned in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment for Dolby Atmos sound. It carries both IP65 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and Gorilla Glass Victus on the back, the phone retains its side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It houses a 5000mAh battery with support for fast charging and Qi wireless charging.
