Xiaomi 14 Series, iQOO 12, OnePlus 12, realme GT5 Pro, and Others to be Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Qualcomm unveiled its cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform today, promising substantial improvements including a 30% boost in CPU performance, a 25% increase in GPU performance, and an overall 10% enhancement in power efficiency.
Additionally, several OEMs such as ASUS, HONOR, iQOO, MEIZU, NIO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE are set to utilize this chip.
Xiaomi 14 series Launch Event -
According to Xiaomi's President William Lu, the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series will be the first to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Xiaomi has officially scheduled the launch event for these phones in China on October 26th.
Redmi K70 Series -
Moreover, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi K70 series will be among the first phones to employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is expected to debut in November and has already received 3C certification. The top-end models in the Redmi K70 series will support up to 120W fast charging, while all models will feature 90W fast charging.
iQOO 12 series -
iQOO has also announced the launch of the iQOO 12 on November 7th, marking the second phone to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Yujian Shi, Senior Vice President & CTO at vivo, has further affirmed that vivo will introduce flagship devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
OnePlus 12 -
The use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC to power the OnePlus 12 has been confirmed, although the company is yet to disclose the phone's launch date.
Realme GT5 Pro -
Realme has announced that its upcoming realme GT5 Pro will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. According to Chase Xu, Vice President at realme, "We'll strengthen our collaboration to provide our fans with next-level optimization on both hardware and software, delivering a comprehensive upgrade to performance and camera experience."
OPPO Find X7 Pro -
OPPO has verified that its forthcoming flagship, likely the Find X7 Pro, will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.
During the demonstration, OPPO showcased its proprietary ray tracing engine, PhysRay Engine 2.0, running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. The company emphasized that this advancement significantly enhances visual effects, such as reflections and taillights in gaming. It enables intricate and detailed gaming scenarios with exceptional fidelity and high frame rates.
This collaboration between OPPO, Qualcomm Technologies, and Mythical Games marks a groundbreaking milestone. It also signifies OPPO's inaugural venture into mobile ray tracing, evident in a real-world racing game demo, resulting in more realistic game scenes and an immersive gaming experience.
ZTE Nubia and Redmagic -
Wei Luo, the Vice President of ZTE Corporation and General Manager of Terminal Product, has officially announced the impending release of a Nubia flagship smartphone based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Emphasizing the continuation of professional camera features, he stated that the new device will offer an expanded range of camera capabilities, performance enhancements, and a refined design.
Hang Yu, Executive VP at Nubia Technology Co., Ltd, also affirmed that the upcoming RedMagic product will incorporate the new flagship platform. With the support of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, he anticipates that RedMagic's latest offering will deliver even more impressive performance, establishing itself as the preferred choice for gaming enthusiasts.
ASUS Zenfone 11 and ROG Phone 8 -
ASUS has confirmed the integration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in its 2024 flagship ASUS mobile phones, presumably the Zenfone 11 and ROG Phone 8. Co-CEO of ASUS, S.Y. Hsu, highlighted that mobile users worldwide will be able to leverage the power of artificial intelligence for enhanced creative, productive, and secure online experiences.
