Samsung has unveiled 4 new prototype display technologies During the ‘Display Week 2021’ exhibition hosted by the World Information Display Society that makes use of upcoming debut in the industry. The company shows its advances in foldable display technology and in their under panel camera technology.

    Samsung S fold OLED display

The first prototype is the S-foldable, which is a device that can fold its display at two sides, giving the display three separate sections. When it fully unfolded the device will have a maximum display size of 7.2-inches, and after folded will behave as a regular smartphone.

The Slidable prototype display technology, where a smartphone is able to extend horizontally without affecting the core shape of the device. With the press of a button, the screen can expand by several millimeters to present a larger canvas for multi-tasking and media consumption. This allows the device to be very portable and easy to use.

    Samsung 17 SRD OLED DISPLAY

There is a 17-inch foldable tablet, which looks similar to a Galaxy Fold 2, but it is much larger. It behaves like a 4:3 tablet when folded and as a monitor when it unfolded, which is unique for a portable device. It can be used in both portrait and landscape orientations.

    Samsung UPC OLED display

Samsung shows its first under-panel camera tech in their Samsung laptop. The laptop had nearly no bezels in all four corners and hides the laptop’s camera at the top of the display. The under-panel camera will be available commercially in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and laptops later this year.
