Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1
Samsung has not lifted the covers off the Galaxy Tab 4 series of Android tablets with three different models, named the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. There are a lot of changes from the Galaxy Tab 3 series, including cosmetic changes alongwith thinner bezels and lower weight. Let's have a look at them separately.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0
As the name would tell you the Tab 4 7.0 has a 7-inch 1280x800 pixels display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM running Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. There's a 3 megapixel camera in the front alongwith a 1.3 megapixel camera at the back, and you get 8 or 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable using a microSD card.
Apart from storage you also have the LTE and WiFi only variants which will be available based on markets. The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is quite thin at just 9 mm and weighs in at about 276 grams. At present there is no word on pricing.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0
Yes, this one has a 8-inch display again with the same 1280x800 pixels resolution. It too runs on the same 1.2 GHz quad-core processor as the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 alongwith a 1.5 GB of RAM. The similarities don't end there, you also have the same 3.0 megapixels camera in the front and 1.3 megapixels camera at the back. There's 16 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 64 GB using a microSD card. It packs a 4,450 mAh battery which is non-removable and the tab measures in at about 7.95 mm making it stunningly thin. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is quite light too at just 320 grams.
It will be available in WiFi only and LTE variants as well based on region, but no word on pricing.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1
This is the largest of the bunch with a 10.1-inch display retaining the same paltry 1280x800 pixels resolution powered by the same 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1.5 GB RAM. In truth, Samsung has just added a larger display keeping everything on the inside same. The same cameras as the above two can be found on this one as well.
There's 16 GB of internal storage on the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 which is expandable upto 64 GB alongwith a larger 6800 mAh battery. It too runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat just like the rest of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is quite thin as well at just 7.95 mm and light too weighing in at 487 grams.
All three will be available in Q2 2013 in Black and White colors globally, but at present there is no word on pricing.
