Samsung launched new 200MP Telephoto with up to 12x optical zoom and 50MP ISOCELL sensors with Dual Pixel tech, Noise reduction

Samsung Semiconductors ISOCELL HP9 GNJ JN5 features.

Samsung Electronics has launched three new image sensors for smartphones, the ISOCELL HP9 - 200MP Telephoto Sensor, ISOCELL GNJ - 50MP Dual Pixel Sensor, and ISOCELL JN5 - 50MP Consistent sensor.

    ISOCELL HP9 - 200MP Telephoto Sensor -

The ISOCELL HP9 features 200 million 0.56μm pixels in a 1/1.4-inch format. It includes high-refractive microlens made from a new material that enhances light capture, improving colour accuracy and focus. The sensor offers 12% better light sensitivity and 10% improved autofocus contrast compared to previous models.

In low-light conditions, Tetra²pixel technology merges 16 pixels into a large 12MP sensor, ensuring sharper portraits and bokeh effects. The HP9 supports up to 12x zoom with clear image quality through a remosaic algorithm.

ISOCELL GNJ - Dual Pixel Sensor with Advanced Pixel Technology -

The ISOCELL GNJ boasts 50 million 1.0μm pixels in a 1/1.57-inch format. It uses dual-pixel technology for fast and precise autofocus, mimicking human eye focusing. Improved pixel isolation and high-transmittance anti-reflective layers enhance light sensitivity and reduce reflections, preserving image details.

    Samsung ISOCELL GNJ 50MP features.

The sensor's power-efficient design offers a 29% improvement in preview mode and 34% in 4K 60fps video mode. It includes in-sensor zoom for clearer video and artifact-free photos.

    ISOCELL JN5 - Consistent Camera Performance -

The ISOCELL JN5 has 50 million 0.64μm pixels in a 1/2.76-inch format and incorporates Dual VTG technology for reduced noise in low light. Super Quad Phase Detection ensures precise autofocus, even for fast-moving subjects.

Dual slope gain technology enhances HDR capabilities, expanding the colour range. The JN5 supports real-time zoom and is versatile for both main and sub cameras, promising consistent image quality across different angles.

Jesuk Lee, Executive Vice President and CTO of Samsung Electronics' System LSI Sensor Business Team, remarked on the launch:

"Our goal is to enhance image sensor performance and minimize the distinction between main and sub cameras, ensuring a seamless photography experience from all angles. This commitment drives us to set new industry benchmarks and push the boundaries of technology with our latest range of mobile sensors."
