Exynos 2500 Confirmed -
Rumors had long pointed to the use of Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2500 chip, and the Geekbench listing has now confirmed it. The benchmark results are as follows:
- Single-core score: 2,012
- Multi-core score: 7,563
CPU configuration -
- 1 core at 3.30 GHz
- 2 cores at 2.75 GHz
- 5 cores at 2.36 GHz
- 2 cores at 1.80 GHz
Other specs -
- GPU: Samsung Xclipse 950
- RAM: 12GB
- OS: Android 16 with One UI 8.0
User Reactions -
The benchmark scores have sparked mixed responses online. Critics point out that the Exynos 2500’s single-core performance is similar to Apple’s 2020 A14 chip (2,079), and its multi-core score is close to the A17 Pro (7,441) from 2023. Despite slightly outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6, the Exynos 2500 still lags behind newer flagship processors. Its lower maximum core frequency may be a move to improve thermal efficiency.
Reports suggest that models in the U.S., India, and South Korea will all be equipped with the Exynos 2500, indicating a wide international release.
Expected Launch -
While Samsung hasn’t confirmed a date, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 Series are expected to debut at the company’s Unpacked event in July 2025. Additional details are likely to be revealed as the event approaches.
