Samsung Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 launched with MIL-STD-810H, Dolby Atmos, IP68 Rating
Samsung has launched the Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5, which are the successors of the XCover6 Pro and Tab Active4 Pro, respectively, that were introduced in 2022. Both devices are built to MIL-STD-810H3 military standards. The XCover7 is designed to be shock-resistant to drops of up to 1.5m, while the Galaxy Tab Active5 can withstand a 1.8m drop when using the bundled protective case.
The Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ and Corning Gorilla Glass 5, respectively. The displays of these devices can be adjusted for touch sensitivity, making them convenient for workers who wear gloves. Samsung Galaxy’s ruggedized devices have been extensively tested for use with sanitizers and are built to withstand severe weather or similar hazards, making them ideal for a wide variety of frontline workers.
The XCover7 has a similar screen and battery as its predecessor, but the Snapdragon 778G has been replaced by Dimensity 6100+. It now has only one camera and the front camera has been downgraded to 5MP. The Galaxy Tab Active5 has a smaller 8-inch display compared to the Active4 Pro model and is powered by Exynos 1380 SoC instead of Snapdragon 778G. It still has an integrated S Pen that is also IP68 rated dustproof and water-resistant.
