Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will feature Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection for Enhanced Durability and Sleek Design
Samsung and Corning have officially announced that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge will debut with the new Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on its front panel. This advanced material, described as a glass-ceramic hybrid, is engineered to deliver superior protection while enabling a slim and sleek device profile.
The standard Galaxy S25 will continue to use Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature Corning Gorilla Armor 2 with an anti-reflective coating. Reports indicate that the rear of the Galaxy S25 Edge will also retain Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The partnership between Samsung and Corning was fueled by a shared mission to push the boundaries of mobile design and durability, ensuring that the S series maintains its premium feel while offering robust resilience.
Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 represents the next generation of Corning’s renowned durability, blending Samsung’s structural engineering with Corning’s cutting-edge glass technology. This collaboration results in a front cover that is both elegant and tough.
A standout feature of Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 is its crystal-infused glass matrix, which significantly enhances crack resistance and overall durability. The interaction between the embedded crystals and glass structure is specifically designed to boost toughness without compromising optical clarity. Additionally, Corning's proprietary ion exchange process further reinforces the glass ceramic, enhancing its strength and resistance to everyday damage.
More details about the Galaxy S25 Edge are expected to be revealed during its official launch next week.
