Samsung Gakaxy Pocket Neo available for Rs. 6990 in India
Samsung has added another phone to its entry-level Galaxy line-up, the Galaxy Pocket Neo. The phone features a 3-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) with a 850Mhz processor and android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There's 512MB RAM and a 2MP primary camera as well alongwith dual-SIM support. But the thing is we are not impressed, for Rs. 6990 you could easily get a Micromax or Karbonn smartphone with a faster processor and 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) display. The Galaxy Star Duos shares similar specs but lacks 3G and GPS, but comes with a faster 1GHz processor, that is acceptable as the Galaxy Star is available for around Rs. 4990.
But by no means, this is a budget device, and nowadays most apps don't support QVGA resolution, therefore its a slippery slope Samsung is trying to tread with these entry-level devices. Although both the Galaxy Pocket Neo and Galaxy Star have great built quality but the small and poor display, makes them less worthy than the competition.
