Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016) and Galaxy On7 (2016) to feature fingerprint sensor, 3GB RAM
Samsung seems to be planning to make a huge splash in the mid-range segment with the Galaxy On5 (2016) and Galaxy On7 (2016) both of which have now been certified by TENNA with fingerprint sensor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, octa-core processors.
The Galaxy On5 (2016) comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage running on either a 1.5Ghz or 1.2GHz octa-core processor based on region of launch. We expect it to be powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 617 in China while in India it may come with the Exynos 7570 octa-core SoC. Apart from that it packs a 5-inch HD display with a 13MP rear and 8MP front-facing camera, which is a huge upgrade over the Galaxy On5 Pro launched earlier in India.
Samsung is going with a unibody construction with the new 2016 Galaxy On series and the On5 is quite thin as well at 8.1mm with a 2600 mAh battery, weighing in at 142 grams. The confirmation on fingerprint sensor on the new Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 (2016) comes from Zauba which has listed a fingerprint module for the SM-G610F smartphone which can be the model number for this year's On7.
The Galaxy On7 (2016) would be the more powerful of the bunch running on a 2.0GHz octa-core processor, probably the Snapdragon 625 with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage which would be further expandable with a microSD card slot. Then there would be a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button on both the On5 and Galaxy On7 making them the first Samsung devices under Rs. 15000 to feature fingerprint authentication. It would also come with a larger 5.5-inch 1080p display and run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box.
There's a 13MP rear snapper and 8MP front camera for selfies here too all running on a beefy 3300 mAh battery. Even with all this the Galaxy On7 would be relatively quite svelte at just 8mm in thickness and weigh in at about 166.7 grams. It would come with a unibody design with separate memory and SIM card slots.
