Original Samsung Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) gets Android Marshmallow update in India
Samsung has started rolling out Android Marshmallow update for the Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) in India. The OTA update comes in at 874.17MB and comes with built number J500FXXU1BPF4.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy J5 brings the new updated and cleaner TouchWiz. Then there's support for Google Now on Tap, better battery-life with Doze mode, app permissions and better performance. We hope the camera performance has also improved a bit on the Galaxy J5 since the last update.
The new Galaxy J5 (2016) was launched running Android Marshmallow out of the box, and with the new update Samsung has shown that it hasn't forgotten its older devices. This is unprecedented for the company which has been panned often for forgetting about budget devices.
Next in line is the Galaxy J7 to get Marshmallow update. This phone has got one of the most queries for Marshmallow update since the launch of the new J series in India. Do subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know when the update arrives.
