Samsung Galaxy Gear price slashed to Rs. 14,990
Samsung has slashed the price of its Galaxy Gear smartwatch to Rs. 14,990, making it a bit more attainable. The ubiquitous smartphone and home appliances manufacturer launched its Galaxy Gear smartwatch for Rs. 22,990 alongside the Note 3. Considering the initial launch price this is a huge price drop and more importantly it signals that the Galaxy Gear 2 might just be around the corner, hence the price drop. The change is price will be effective starting this week.
In terms of specs the Galaxy Gear features a 1.63-inch with a 320 x 320 pixels resolution, 1.9 MP camera and 4 GB internal storage. It runs on a 800 MHz processor with 512 MB RAM. There's a 315 mAh battery which is capable of lasting more than 2 days on a single charge.
It is expected that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch at MWC 2014 in the last week of February which, according to industry sources, will be completely different in design and aesthetics.
