Samsung Electronics Expands Galaxy AI with Open Multi-Agent Ecosystem, Adds Perplexity Integration

Samsung Electronics has announced the next phase of Galaxy AI, revealing plans to expand it into a more open, integrated multi-agent ecosystem. The company said Galaxy AI is designed to simplify everyday tasks and enable more intuitive interactions, while giving users greater flexibility, control, and choice over how they use AI.
The update follows insights indicating that users are increasingly depending on multiple AI assistants for different needs.
Growing reliance on multiple AI agents -
Samsung shared data suggesting that nearly 80% of users now engage with more than two types of AI agents, selecting different tools based on specific tasks. As AI becomes embedded in daily routines, users are opting for assistants that best suit particular scenarios.
In response, Samsung is evolving Galaxy AI to support a broader selection of integrated AI agents. The platform aims to allow users to personalize their AI experience within the Galaxy ecosystem according to their preferences and usage habits.
Operating system-level integration -
Galaxy AI is designed to operate at the OS level, with framework-level integration across the device. Rather than functioning solely within individual apps, the system understands user context and facilitates seamless interaction between applications.

This approach minimizes the need to switch apps or repeat commands. Galaxy AI can run in the background, coordinating services while remaining fully embedded within the Galaxy interface.
Samsung noted that this structure enables curated AI experiences from partner services, including Perplexity, while preserving a cohesive system-wide experience.
Perplexity joins as a new AI agent -
As part of the expanded multi-agent strategy, Samsung will introduce Perplexity as an additional AI agent on upcoming flagship Galaxy smartphones.
Users will be able to access Perplexity through:
- A dedicated wake phrase: “Hey Plex”
- Quick-access controls, such as pressing and holding the side button
These features are intended to deliver contextual assistance when needed.
Integration across Samsung and third-party apps -
Perplexity’s AI capabilities will be integrated into select Samsung applications, including:
- Samsung Notes
- Clock
- Gallery
- Reminder
- Calendar
The agent will also work with selected third-party apps.
Samsung stated that this integration enables multi-step workflows, allowing users to transition between tasks without manually managing separate applications. The OS-level design aims to deliver a more adaptable and seamless AI experience across the device.
Availability -
The company said further details regarding supported devices and specific features will be shared at a later date.
Commenting on the announcement, Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, said -
The company remains focused on developing an open and inclusive AI ecosystem that gives users greater choice, flexibility, and control to handle complex tasks more efficiently. He added that Galaxy AI functions as an orchestrator, unifying multiple AI capabilities into a seamless, natural, and cohesive experience.
