Samsung Galaxy A8 goes official with fingerprint sensor, 5.7-inch display, 5.9mm thin shell
Samsung Galaxy A8 goes official in China after weeks of leaks. It comes with a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with extremely thin bezels, full-metal unibody design with a 3050 mAh non-removable battery, all in a just 5.9mm thick shell, making it the thinnest Samsung smartphone till date. It runs on the Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 2GB RAM, 16/32 GB onboard storage which is expandable. Samsung has packed a 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture lens, 5MP front-camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens. Moreover, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box.
The Galaxy A8 also has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home-button just like the Gaalxy S6 / S6 Edge. It is a 4G LTE device with dual-SIM support based on the region of launch, dual-band WiFi support, Bluetooth 4.1 as well as GPS with GLONASS support.
Although the Galaxy A8 was made official in China, we expect it to arrive in India soon. It would be available in white, black and gold colors. The company is also holding a launch event on July 16th in India where we are going to see the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7.
