Samsung 990 EVO SSD launched in India starting at Rs.9,999 with PCIe Gen 5 interface, up to 5000MB/s read speeds, up to 2TB capacity

Samsung India has introduced the SSD 990 EVO, a high-performance solid-state drive boasting remarkable read/write speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s and 4,200 MB/s, respectively. Compared to its predecessor, the 970 EVO Plus, the 990 EVO demonstrates a 43% increase in performance. Tailored for gaming, professional tasks, and multimedia editing, it showcases improved random read and write speeds of up to 700K IOPS and 800K IOPS.

With the inclusion of Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, the SSD ensures optimized performance even in the absence of a DRAM design, resulting in swift game loading times and efficient file access.

The 990 EVO enhances power efficiency by up to 70%, enabling prolonged PC usage without frequent battery life worries. It also facilitates Modern Standby for instant on/off functionality and uninterrupted connectivity during low-power states.

Equipped with a heat spreader label, the SSD preserves thermal conditions, ensuring sustained high-performance levels. Offered in 1TB and 2TB variants, the 990 EVO supports PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces, catering to both current and future PC demands.
