Redmi K40 series to be launched on February 25 with up to Snapdragon 888, 120Hz E4 AMOLED display, Dolby Atmos, 4520mAh battery
Update - Today, Redmi has posted a teaser image of the phone in Black color with a water-like pattern on the back. The company also said that the phone will come with a 4520mAh battery, confirmed Dolby Atoms, Stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio certification, and E4 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate with a 2.8mm tiny center punch-hole camera.
Earlier - Xiaomi already confirmed that it will launch its first premium smartphone the Redmi K40 series in China on February 25th. Today, the company has officially posted the first teaser of the phone that shows rounded corners and a triple rear camera setup with AI features where two large cameras and one smaller camera sensor as similar to the Mi 11. As per the earlier rumors, it could come with a 108MP main camera.
The Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro have already been certified in China, which revealed dimensions of the phone 163.7×76.4×7.8mm and a 4500mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The Redmi K40 series has the codename “Alioth” and has model number M2012K11AC/AG. The Redmi K40 Pro will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, and Snapdragon 870 SoC will power the K40. Both phones will comes with a 120Hz refresh rate screen.
Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing already confirmed that the pricing for the K40 Pro, which will be started from 2,999 yuan (US$ 460 / Rs. 33,993 approx.) and the K40 should be cheaper than the K40 pro. We should know more details and the full specifications of the phones in the coming days before the launch.
