Qualcomm and BMW Announce Long-Term Partnership to Power Next-Generation Digital Cockpit and Automated Driving Technologies

    Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and the BMW Group have entered into a long-term strategic agreement that will see Qualcomm provide advanced compute silicon for BMW’s next-generation digital cockpit, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and automated driving (AD) platforms.

    The new multi-year deal expands the companies’ existing engineering collaboration and establishes the core hardware platform for BMW’s future vehicle architectures. As part of the agreement, BMW will integrate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® Digital Chassis™ portfolio, including high-performance Snapdragon® Elite automotive system-on-chips (SoCs) and dedicated AI accelerators, into its upcoming vehicle lineup.

    Snapdragon Digital Chassis to Power Future BMW Vehicles

    The Snapdragon Digital Chassis is Qualcomm’s comprehensive automotive computing platform, designed to support multiple vehicle domains, including infotainment, digital cockpit experiences, spatial computing, and autonomous driving. Built on a unified hardware and software architecture, it enables automakers to consolidate computing resources, allowing multiple electronic systems to function as a single intelligent platform.

    Through this collaboration, Qualcomm and BMW aim to significantly increase processing performance and AI computing capabilities across BMW’s global production programs over the next decade, supporting the rising computational requirements of software-defined vehicles.

    Building on the Neue Klasse Collaboration

    The latest agreement builds upon the successful partnership between the two companies, highlighted by the commercial introduction of Snapdragon Ride™ Pilot in the BMW iX3 in November 2025. The iX3 became the first production model based on BMW’s Neue Klasse electric vehicle platform.

    Jointly developed by Qualcomm and BMW, Snapdragon Ride Pilot powers BMW’s "Symbiotic Drive" system, delivering advanced automated driving capabilities while maintaining an engaging and intuitive human-machine interaction experience.

    With this extended long-term partnership, BMW plans to leverage Qualcomm’s next-generation automotive silicon to further expand intelligent cockpit features, AI-powered driving assistance, and automated driving technologies across a broader range of future vehicle models and global markets.
