POCO F6 launching in India on May 23 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC; Simultaneous Launch of POCO F6 Pro for Global Markets

POCO has officially announced the upcoming launch of the POCO F6, the company's next flagship phone in the F series, in India on May 23rd. The teaser provides a glimpse of the phone's back, which bears a striking resemblance to the Redmi Turbo 3 recently unveiled in China, powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.

During today's Qualcomm India event, POCO confirmed that the POCO F6 will be the first phone in India to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. This chipset shares the same architecture as the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, including its ISP, Display, Memory, and Modem Architecture. Moreover, it utilizes the same flagship X4 core and is manufactured using the 4nm TSMC fabrication process.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 supports 10 billion parameters for on-device AI, multi-modal generative AI, and a wide range of AI models, including popular large language models (LLM) like Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano. POCO also revealed that the F6 powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 has achieved a benchmark score of over 1.5 million or 15 lakh points on AnTuTu.

POCO Global claims a score of 1.53 million points on AnTuTu 10 for the F6, positioning it as a direct competitor to the realme GT 6T, also set to launch in India next week with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, which also boasts a 1.5 million AnTuTu score.

As per earlier reports, the POCO F6 is expected to be the global variant of the Redmi Turbo 3 introduced in China last month. Therefore, it's anticipated to feature a 6.67-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED display, a 50MP rear camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Additionally, it will likely house a 5000mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging.

POCO is set to introduce the POCO F6 Pro simultaneously for global markets, alongside the POCO F6, in an in-person event to be held in Dubai.

The POCO F6 will be available first on Flipkart in India after the launch. More details about the phone are expected to be unveiled in the coming days.
