Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 and FZ-X1 rugged 5-inch tablets launched in India

Panasonic today launched its ToughPad FX-E1 and ToughPad FZ-X1 rugged tablets in India. This increases the ToughPad portfolio which already has 7-inch models with the new 5-inch tablets launched today. The ToughPad FX-E1 runs Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) processor while the ToughPad FZ-X1 is powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064T) processor running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. These are not aimed at the consumer market, but instead aim at B2B and enterprise segment, including Manufacturing, Defence, Emergency Services and the likes.

Both the tablets have the same protection, MIL-STD-810G which makes it resistant to drops of up to 10 feet (3m) onto concrete, these are also IP65/IP68 dust and water resistant. Both of the new ToughPads have hot-swappable 6200 mAh batteries for 14 hours of continuous usage.

The Panasonic ToughPad FZ-E1 has been priced at Rs. 1,19,000 while its Android counterpart ToughPad FZ-X1 will be available for Rs. 1,09,000.
