OPPO Find N3 Flip launching in India on October 12 with 6.8-inch 120Hz LTPO foldable AMOLED display, 3.26-inch cover display
Update - OPPO has officially announced the release date of the Find N3 Flip in India, scheduled for October 12th. The event will be broadcast via live stream, commencing at 7 PM.
Earlier - OPPO had previously announced the upcoming launch of the Find N3 Flip in India during its introduction in August in China. Now, the company has commenced teasing the phone's attributes in anticipation of its launch later this October. The device will be available in two appealing color options: Cream Gold and Sleek Black.
OPPO has introduced an Alert Slider to its smartphone for the very first time. Positioned on the left edge of the device, this mechanical control allows users to effortlessly switch between three modes—Silent, Vibrate, and Ring—without the need to open the Find N3 Flip.
There's a 3.26-inch AMOLED outer display with a 60Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus for enhanced protection, the design feature is carried over from the Find N2 Flip. This cover screen maintains a proportional alignment with the main screen. The rationale behind this choice is the high prevalence of Android apps designed for vertical usage, exceeding 90%. This orientation effectively eliminates compatibility issues often associated with square screens.
As an improvement over its predecessor, the cover screen now offers support for over 40 essential applications, including popular ones like Gmail, Outlook, Uber, and Google Maps. This expanded functionality enables users to perform tasks such as responding to emails, booking rides, accessing turn-by-turn navigation, and even controlling music playback while on the move.
In terms of the hinge mechanism within the Find N3 Flip, there's a notable enhancement. The previous-generation Find N2 Flip's single friction plate has been upgraded to a dual friction plate structure, resulting in improved FlexForm stability. Furthermore, the device incorporates aircraft-grade high-strength steel at critical load-bearing points to bolster durability. This adjustment increases resistance to deformation from drops by an impressive 25%, in comparison to the Find N2 Flip.
Continuing a design tradition from the previous generation, the hinge on this device features a finely detailed micro-carved flowing texture. This aesthetic effect is achieved through a meticulous process involving surface carving, which occurs up to 12,000 times over a duration of three minutes, resulting in a captivating visual resembling the undulating patterns of water waves on the metal hinge.
The Find N3 Flip is equipped with a trio of rear cameras neatly housed within a circular module adjacent to the cover screen. The device boasts a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with an expansive 1/1.56-inch sensor. Additionally, it features a telephoto portrait camera supported by a 32MP IMX709 sensor, providing 2x optical zoom capabilities.
OPPO has diligently refined its bokeh effects, collaborating with renowned camera manufacturer Hasselblad. Furthermore, it includes a fresh addition in the form of a 114-degree wide-angle camera, featuring a 48MP Sony IMX581 sensor. The autofocus functionality of this camera enables users to capture macro shots of subjects as close as 4cm.
For on-screen visuals, the Find N3 Flip incorporates a 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW punch-hole camera. This camera serves multiple purposes, including video calls, selfies, and recording 4K video at 30 frames per second.
