OnePlus X Has Been Discontinued, Permanently
In just a few months, OnePlus has discontinued one of its most stylish smartphones, the OnePlus X. Earlier we had also reported that there will be no successor to the OPX.
The device has been unavailable from the official store for some time, and even in India it hasn't been available for some time. The OnePlus X has been marked as out of stock in the official store and the company is struggling to fulfil existing orders due to lack of stock.
For pending orders, OnePlus has begun sending out emails saying the OPX is out of stock and there is no plan to bring it back. For all the hassle they are offering a $10 coupon code which can be redeemed at Oneplus.net.
OnePlus X was launched last year in October, so it hasn't even been a year and without warning the company is discontinuing the device. While both the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 are still available in the market. It may make sense from a business standpoint as the OPX may not have done so well in terms of sales, but atleast pending orders should have been fulfilled.
Anyways, what's your thought on the matter? Does this change your mind about the company? Personally, the OnePlus 3 is one of my favorite smartphones of 2016 but given such a short product cycle for one of their products, does make me a bit wary.
