OnePlus Ace 5 Pro to be the First Smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC to Support 1080p 120fps Genshin Impact Gaming
OnePlus has been teasing its upcoming flagship gaming smartphone in the Ace series, the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in the Chinese market. During an event, OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis introduced the industry’s first chip-level gaming technology, the Fengchi Gaming Kernel, announcing a complete reconstruction of the chip’s core architecture.
According to the company, the Fengchi Gaming Kernel addresses significant performance inefficiencies in gaming scenarios. It reduces CPU instructions for critical tasks by up to 22.74%, cuts waiting times by 66%, and boosts computing efficiency by 49%.
This technology is designed to significantly enhance the gaming experience, enabling extended gameplay without lag or overheating. It also pushes the limits of frame rates and image quality in games. The Fengchi Gaming Kernel adds over 25,000 lines of original code to the Android kernel and 34,000 lines to the game pipeline. The innovations have resulted in 254 patent applications.
Paired with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the company claims the Ace 5 Pro will set new benchmarks for gaming performance. Notably, it will be the first device in the world to support native 120 FPS gameplay in Genshin Impact at 1080p resolution.
OnePlus is set to officially launch the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro smartphones in China next week.
At the event, OPPO’s Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau, stated:
"The gaming experience will be a key strategic focus for OPPO in the performance segment. As OPPO’s performance-driven brand, OnePlus has consistently introduced groundbreaking gaming technologies. Looking ahead, OnePlus will continue to drive the adoption of more self-developed cutting-edge technologies."
