OnePlus 5T launched with 6.01-inch full-screen display, dual-cameras, priced at Rs. 32,999
OnePlus today unveiled its mid-cycle refresh, the OnePlus 5T. It comes with a 6.01-inch full-screen display in a body which is not much larger than the OnePlus 5. The optic AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio gives the phone a brilliant 80.5% screen-to-body ratio. Given the larger display in the front, the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back of the phone. It still has a ceramic coating to prevent any wear and tear with regular use.
Coming to the dual rear cameras, the OnePlus 5T has the same 16-megapixel rear camera with wide-angle f/1.7 aperture lens. The telephone lens has been upgraded to a new 20-megapixel sensor with a larger f/1.7 aperture lens which would make for better low-light performance. The depth of field effect should also see an improvement here. The 16-megapixel selfie camera has been retained from the OnePlus 5, but the company has now added a facial recognition feature which is said to unlock the phone in a mere 0,2 seconds.
On the software front, the OnePlus 5T still runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen OS. There are a few neat features in store including parallel apps. The company will be releasing an Oreo update for the phone in December.
The rest of the things are similar to the OnePlus 5, including the anodized aluminum unibody metal body, Snapdragon 835 innards with a choice of 6GB RAM with 64GB storage or 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. Even the battery has been kept the same at 3300 mAh with support for Dash Charge fast charging.
