OnePlus 3 Rumor Round-up 2: Dash Charge, 6GB RAM Variant, Pricing
Earlier we had seen two variants of the OnePlus 3 through benchmarks on GeekBench and GFXBench, with one sporting 4GB RAM and the other with 6GB RAM. Now we have another confirmation with a report coming from China which says that OnePlus is working on two different OP3 models.
OnePlus 3 Rumored Specs and Pricing
From what we have gathered till now, both the OP3 variants, A3000 and A3003 will run on Snapdragon 820 but come with 4GB RAM/32GB Storage or 6GB RAM/64GB storage options. This was revealed by a OnePlus employee in China. Other specs that have been rumored include a 16MP rear and 8MP front-camera with Android Marshmallow running the innards.
He made another major revelation, saying that the starting price of the OnePlus 3 will be RMB 1999 (about Rs. 20,500) or $310 which is lower than the launch price of the OnePlus 2 ($329). This ofcourse is the price for the 4GB/32GB variant of the OP3. But take this with a grain of salt as the company hasn't officially revealed anything yet.
OnePlus Dash Charge
Toady we have one more report coming in which says that OnePlus has filed for a trademark called "Dash Charge" with the USPTO according to UberGizmo. This could be the new fast charging standard that will come with OnePlus 3.
At present we have Quick Charge from Qualcomm, VOOC for Oppo mobiles and Fast Charge for Samsung smartphones. Last year OnePlus 2 supported Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 standard for which a company needs to pay a licensing fee. It seems, OnePlus wants to create its own fast charging standard and may not opt for Quick Charge 3.0 which is supported by the Snapdragon 820 SoC.
