OnePlus 15 Design Revealed: “Dune Aesthetic” with Nano-Ceramic Metal Midframe and Ultra-Slim Bezels

OnePlus has unveiled the design philosophy behind its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 15, which adopts a “Dune Aesthetic” ahead of its official launch in October. This design direction focuses on minimalism, premium materials, and ergonomic comfort.

The front of the device features a display with ultra-slim 1.15mm uniform bezels and a narrow chin, offering a maximized screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience.

At its core, the phone’s chassis is built with an aerospace-grade nano-ceramic metal midframe. OnePlus describes this as a major material breakthrough—26.3% lighter than titanium, with 134% higher wear resistance, and 26.6 times better heat dissipation compared to titanium. The manufacturing process integrates three advanced technologies:

• Micro-arc oxidation - A military-grade treatment that makes the surface 134% harder than titanium, 223% harder than stainless steel, and 344% harder than anodized aluminum.
• Ion coloring - Maintains long-lasting color fidelity, reducing fading over time.
• Nanoscale sealing - Ensures exceptional durability, demonstrated by withstanding 336 hours of salt spray corrosion resistance testing.

Every aspect of the OnePlus 15’s design has been carefully refined to enhance both durability and user comfort. The frame adopts slightly curved edges paired with broad, rounded corners, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip for effortless one-handed use.

Visually, the device introduces distinctive textural elements. The surface carries a “Quenching Texture” for a subtle, premium finish, while a new “Sand Dune” colorway has been chosen to evoke elegance. Adding to this, the finish incorporates an innovative “Ice Skin” coating, designed to feel cool and pleasant to the touch from the very first interaction.

On the rear, the camera system is housed within an “Ultra-minimalist Camera Deco” design, blending seamlessly into the phone’s sleek and understated aesthetic.

According to OnePlus, the OnePlus 15 embodies its sand dune–inspired philosophy through six defining elements: a minimalist camera design, ultra-narrow bezels, an aerospace-grade metal frame with advanced engineering, a distinctive textured surface, a skin-friendly finish, and ergonomic contours.
