Oculus outs $199 Touch Controller, extra sensor for room-scale VR at $79
The Oculus Rift was incomplete without its own controller, and now we have exactly that. At Oculus Connect 3, the company unveiled its Touch controller priced at $199.
Pre-orders for Touch start on October 10th, going on sale December 6th. Each unit will come with its own motion sensor which when combined with a 3rd separate motion sensor for $79 will give you a full room-scale VR experience, similar to what HTC Vive already offers.
With Oculus Touch you get intuitive hand tracking. The controller has analog sticks, buttons and triggers with a plastic band that wraps around your wrist. With the Touch controller you will be able to naturally control your avatar's hands in a game. You would be able to wave, pick up things in VR.
The Oculus Rift combined with Touch controllers will come in at $798. Both the controller and additional sensor for full-room VR go on sale December 6th.
