NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 launched Globally with Blackwell Architecture, DLSS 4, and Enhanced AI Rendering

nvidia geforce rtx 50 series launch global.

NVIDIA has launched its latest line of consumer GPUs, the GeForce RTX 50 Series, available for both desktop and laptop platforms. Built on the new NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, these GPUs feature fifth-generation Tensor Cores and fourth-generation RT Cores, bringing major advancements in AI-driven rendering. This includes neural shaders, digital human technologies, and improved geometry and lighting.

Flagship Performance: GeForce RTX 5090 -

NVIDIA RTX 50 series vs 40 Series features.

At the top of the series is the GeForce RTX 5090, the most powerful GPU in the lineup, which boasts 92 billion transistors and delivers over 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS). NVIDIA claims that the innovations in the Blackwell architecture and the introduction of DLSS 4 allow the RTX 5090 to outperform its predecessor, the RTX 4090, by up to two times.

    Blackwell Architecture for Laptops -

NVIDIA RTX 50 Series Laptop GPU features.

The Blackwell architecture is also making its way to laptops with the RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs, offering the same powerful features as the desktop models. NVIDIA's latest Max-Q technology promises up to a 40% improvement in battery life, enabling sleek laptop designs without sacrificing performance.

DLSS 4: Enhanced Performance and Visual Quality -

The new DLSS 4 introduces Multi Frame Generation, using AI to generate up to three additional frames for every rendered frame. When combined with other DLSS technologies, this results in performance gains of up to eight times compared to traditional rendering, all while maintaining responsiveness through NVIDIA Reflex technology.

DLSS 4 also introduces a transformer model architecture for its Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution models. This new model uses double the parameters and four times the compute power of previous versions, offering improved stability, reduced ghosting, greater detail, and enhanced anti-aliasing. More than 75 games and applications are expected to support DLSS 4 at launch.

NVIDIA Reflex 2: Lower Latency -

NVIDIA Reflex 2 introduces Frame Warp, a technique designed to reduce latency by updating rendered frames based on the latest mouse input right before they are displayed. This can cut latency by as much as 75%, offering a competitive edge in fast-paced gaming and improving responsiveness in single-player experiences.

Blackwell’s Impact on Shaders and Digital Humans -

With the RTX 50 Series, NVIDIA introduces RTX Neural Shaders, embedding small AI networks into programmable shaders. This innovation is expected to unlock more realistic materials, lighting, and other real-time effects in games.

A major focus is on rendering realistic digital humans. RTX Neural Faces leverages generative AI to create high-quality, temporally stable digital faces in real-time, using rasterized face and 3D pose data as input. This is complemented by new RTX technologies for ray-traced hair and skin, along with RTX Mega Geometry, which supports up to 100 times more ray-traced triangles per scene.

Autonomous Game Characters with NVIDIA ACE -

The RTX 50 Series GPUs bring the AI power necessary to enable autonomous game characters, along with game rendering. NVIDIA ACE technologies allow these characters to perceive, plan, and act like human players. Games such as KRAFTON’s PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, InZOI, and Wemade Next’s MIR5 are already integrating ACE-powered characters.

AI Foundation Models and Tools for RTX AI PCs -

NVIDIA is launching a pipeline of NIM microservices and AI Blueprints for RTX AI PCs, developed by partners like Black Forest Labs, Meta, Mistral, and Stability AI. These services will support various AI applications, including LLMs, vision language models, image generation, speech, and more.

NVIDIA also previewed Project R2X, a vision-enabled PC avatar powered by NIM microservices.

    AI-Powered Tools for Creators -

The RTX 50 Series GPUs are designed to optimize creative workflows. They are the first consumer GPUs to support FP4 precision, which is claimed to double AI image generation performance for models like FLUX, and enables generative AI models to run locally with reduced memory usage.

The NVIDIA Broadcast app adds two AI-driven beta features for streamers: Studio Voice, which enhances microphone audio, and Virtual Key Light, which improves lighting for faces. Streamlabs is also launching an Intelligent Streaming Assistant, powered by NVIDIA ACE and Inworld AI.
