Nokia Lumia 525 Gaming Review

Nokia has been advertising the Lumia 525 as a gaming phone and with free games worth Rs. 2025 from Gameloft it seems so too. Therefore, we did two gaming reviews of the Lumia 525, first of which is a basic games review and then we did a high-end gaming review including Asphalt 8, NOVA 3, MC4 and several others. Let's have a look at each of them.

Nokia Lumia 525 Basic Gaming Review

In the basic gaming review of the Lumia 525 we played several games including Subway Surfers, Mirror's Edge, Temple Run 2 and Assassin's Creed. The gameplay was smooth most of the time, but there was a an occasional framerate drop here and there.

High-end Gaming Review of Nokia Lumia 525

First we played Asphalt 8 on the Lumia 525 and the gameplay was not that smooth, there was occasional lag and the framerate was rather inconsistent. Although the graphic details seemed to be on the higher side, but the low framerate didn't make the game as enjoyable as it should have been.

Then we also played Modern Combat 4 (MC4), NOVA 3, Real Racing 2, Asphalt 7, Six Guns and a few other games on the Lumia 525 as well and found the same that the framerate did drop sometimes but as the game progressed the gameplay became smoother.

Conclusion

The Nokia Lumia 525 with 1 GB RAM should have been able to play games much better given the Adreno 305 graphics engine. We found basic games played quite well but when it came to the high-end one's, the Lumia 525 seemed to struggle. Framerates were inconsistent and there was occasional lag here and there. In terms of racing games Asphalt 7 played quite well, but shooters like MC4 and NOVA 3 could have done better with faster framerates.
