Nokia 8 India Launch Set for September 26
HMD Global is all set to launch their flagship Nokia 8 smartphone in India on Septemer 26. With this the total Nokia devices in India would go up to 4 including the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6.
Going by the report from 91Mobiles, the company is conducting a launch event on September 26 to unveil the Nokia 8 in India. The report also adds that the device will go on sale by the second week of October priced around Rs. 40000 - Rs. 45000.
To recall, the Nokia 8 boasts a unibody aluminum design with IP54 splash resistance. It sports a 5.3-inch QHD display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. This is the most powerful Nokia smartphone ever released with a Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with Adreno 540 GPU and 4 GB of RAM. It also carries 64 GB onboard storage, which can further be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card slot.
One of the unique selling points of this device is its camera. On the back, it flaunts a 13 MP dual camera setup with one RGB and one monochrome sensor. The dual camera is powered by ZEISS optics with optical image stabilization, f/2.0 aperture, IR range finder and PDAF support. The phone also supports dual capture with both the front and rear cameras together.
Unlike other flagships in the market, Nokia 8 uses three microphones for audio capture. Using the company’s own OZO audio technology, it records 360 degree spatial surround sound.
The device also features a fingerprint scanner, dual SIM card slots, 3.5-mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port and all these are powered by a 3090 mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
Even though Nokia shipped the device with Android 7.0 Nougat on it, the company has said they are working on the Oreo update and that will go live when its ready.
Recently, the Nokia 2 also broke cover with leaked images and specifications. HMD may launch both devices at its event on September 26 in India.
