New Nexus 7 gets unboxed, benchmarked and is now available for pre-order

    Second Gen Nexus 7 2013

Its been a hell of a ride for the new Nexus 7, within a span of a day it was unboxed, benchmarked and is now up for pre-order at Best Buy for $229.99 without even being formally launched by Google, which is to come later tonight. In terms of specs the Nexus 7 has been upgraded to a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 pixels display at 320 PPI and now runs on a 1.5 Ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 graphics instead of the previous-gen's NVIDIA Tegra 3. Android 4.3 runs the show here as well, which too will be announced later today by Android and Chrome VP at Google, Sundar Pichai.

There are some notable changes to the design especially the backcover which now sports a matte soft touch finish like the Nexus 10, then there's the addition of a 5-megapixel primary camera and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
