Moto X 2013 gets Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA Update in Brazil, US and Canada
Motorola has started rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop for the 2013 Moto X 1st Gen in the US, Canada and Brazil. The announcement comes from David Schuster of Motorola.
But only retail units in the US and Brazil are getting the update, and those brought from Rogers in Canada. Carrier subsidized Moto X variants will get the update a bit later.
The software build has the version, 222.21.15. Motorola has had an excellent run with the new Moto series and its great to see that the company has not forgotten where it all started, the original Moto X. The 1st Gen Moto X is now one of the very few smartphones running Android 5.1 Lollipop and was updated directly from Android 4.4 KitKat. You can see the complete changelog here.
Soak tests have begun in India as well and we will keep you apprised of any further developments.
