Motorola Moto 360, circular Android Wear smartwatch goes official, specs and price in tow
Motorola also unveiled the Moto 360 at its event today alongwith the new 2nd Gen Moto G and Moto X. The Moto 360 is one of the most intriguing smartwatches with its circular display running Android Wear. Although LG beat Motorola to the punch with its own round smartwatch, the G Watch R. Tech pundits and critics are finding the Moto 360 a bit more interesting.
Build
Its a slim watch with 46mm diameter, and is 11mm thick with a weight of 49 grams. The Moto 360 has a metallic build and comes with IP67 dust and water resistance rating.
Specs
Here's what you get with the 360. A 1.56-inch 320x290 Pixels circular display protected by Gorilla Glass. Given that other smartwatches in the segment run on the Snapdragon 400 chipset, Motorola decided to incorporate the TI OMAP 3 chipset with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. Moreover, the Android Wear running smartwatch is compatible with any handset running Android 4.3 or later.
Features
The Moto 360 features wake on wrist flip, automatic voice recognition with "OK, Google" command and activity tracking through inbuilt pedometer and inbuilt heart-rate monitor. There's a wireless charging dock available for the Moto 360 as well for those who like to live an un-tethered life. Now, speaking of charging the Moto 360 has a 320 mAh battery which should easily give it more than a day's worth of usage.
Availability
It is available starting today in the US for $249.99 (about Rs. 15,000) but will be available later this month in India through Flipkart.
