Microsoft Lumia 635 with 1 GB RAM is on its way

Microsoft is all set to launch a new variant of the Lumia 635 with 1 GB RAM. If you remember, the Lumia 635 is the LTE variant of the Lumia 630 which we had reviewed earlier. The Lumia 635 is one of the very few Windows Phone smartphones that run on 512 MB RAM, atleast till now. Even the new budget Windows Phone offerings like the Lumia 435 and 532 come with 1 GB RAM.

Therefore with the impending release of Windows 10 in sight, Microsoft is giving Lumia 635 a memory bump. The official specs page of Microsoft LUmia 635 have been updated to say 512 MB or 1 GB RAM based on market and the battery life has been reduced to 19 days of standby time from 25 days.

Windows 10 is already in technical preview for Windows Phone devices and Microsoft has said that it will be available for most Windows Phone 8 devices even with 512 MB RAM. But devices with 512 MB RAM will receive a watered-down version of the latest OS from Microsoft, therefore Lumia 635 with 1 GB RAM could be a potential winner in the mid-range segment.
