Microsoft Cortana coming to iOS and Android

According to a report by Reuters, Microsoft might be working on a standalone app for Cortana which will work on Android and iOS. Cortana, Apple Siri's main rival when it comes to personal digital assistants was launched with Windows Phone 8.1 and since then it has become available in several markets gradually. Many new apps have already updated with support for Cortana.

Microsoft is pushing Cortana to PC's as well with Windows 10 and getting it onto iOS and Android devices would increase reach significantly. Now, Cortana is easily the best personal assistant that there is right now with Google Now following in at a very close second place. Microsoft was able to give Cortana a personality and wit to match. 

Cortana is going to get even more aware in the coming days with Microsoft's Project Einstein working to improve task automation. But, getting a standalone app working in another platform is really a difficult task since you won't have access to the core OS. Cortana might not be as full-fledged as it is on Windows Phone when it arrives for iPhones or Androids.
