LG G5 gets Android 7.0 Nougat update in Korea, coming to other markets soon
LG has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for the LG G5 in Korea for all users. The company had earlier run a preview program to find out bugs and potential issues with the build. Now, that they have been sorted out, the update is being rolled out gradually to all G5 owners.
Android Nougat brings in a lot of new features including better Doze mode support, new animations, native multi-window mode which allows users to switch between open apps by double tapping on the recent apps key or use two apps side by side. Then there's better memory management and graphics performance along with support for DayDream VR, but LG hasn't mentioned if DayDream support is being added yet.
Although the update is being rolled out only in Korea at present, LG has said that owners of the G5 in Asia, US and other markets will receive the update in the coming few weeks.
