Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus India launch set for March 15
Lenovo has started sending out invites for the launch of the Vibe K5 Plus smartphone in India. Unveiled at MWC 2016, the Vibe K5 Plus comes with a 5-inch 1080p display running on an octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB expandable storage.
The new Vibe K5 series is expected to replace the current crop of A series smartphones in India like the A7000, A6000 Plus. Coming back to specs for a moment, you still have Android 5.1 Lollipop running the show.
Do I really need to tell you the camera specs? Well if you must, there is a 13MP rear and 5MP front-camera here, and the rear camera can record 1080p videos. There's Dolby Atmos support built-in too.
Connectivity options aren't that limited given the price point being targeted here. You have 4G LTE dual-SIM support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and FM Radio. There's no fingerprint sensor on the K5 Plus, these are strictly meant for the budget crowd.
Now the Vibe K5 Plus isn't a slouch when it comes to design, the company has focused on a metallic look for the device. It will come in platinum silver, champagne gold and graphite gray colors, and pricing should be somewhere less than Rs. 10,000 (announced at $149.) We will get to know more details about pricing and availability in a couple of weeks, stay tuned.
