Lenovo smartphones will come pre-loaded with Microsoft Office, Skype and OneDrive Apps
Microsoft recently announced that it has signed a cross-platform license agreement with Lenovo which also covers Motorola devices. So we will see Microsoft Office, Skype and OneDrive apps preloaded on Lenovo Android smartphones.
We have already seen a similar partnership between Microsoft and several other smartphone OEMs including Samsung, LG, Sony, Xiaomi and Asus among others. The details of the deal are not yet known, but with the cross license agreement Microsoft forfeits its right to charge royalties in favor of using their apps and services on Android.
Microsoft is trying to bring its services to the forefront and has been continuously developing apps for both Android and iOS. With Lenovo joining the fold, Microsoft will get another big chunk of customers exposed to its services.
Till now Lenovo hasn't confirmed which products will be launched with Microsoft apps pre-installed.
