Lava Iris X1 with 4.5-inch display, Android 4.4.2 KitKat teased, to be launched with sub Rs. 8000 price
Lava has just announced new Iris X series of smartphones which will feature Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box. The first of the series is the Iris X1 which will have a 4.5-inch IPS display as well as a 8 MP primary camera, but that's the extent of specs Lava has let known at the present time. But the company said that the Iris X1 will be available at a sub Rs. 8000 price point.
Lava Iris X1 therefore will compete directly with the Moto E, which too incidentally is expected to arrive within the same price point. But the lack of flash and front-facing camera on the Moto E has been sort of a sore spot in the mind of would-be buyers.
Its good to see Lava and other Indian manufacturers pushing towards latest Android version with their new handsets. Micromax too recently launched the Canvas Elanza 2 with Android 4.3, while XOLO updated the Q1000 Opus to Android KitKat.
