Karbonn Smart A55 Gaming Review
Now this is what you would call an excellent budget phone, the Karbonn Smart A55 comes with a dual-core processor, 3.5-inch IPS display, 512 MB RAM running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with a lot of promise for Rs. 3700. Although we aren't expecting high-end gaming, but the Karbonn A55 does run on the Mali-400MP GPU which can play its share of games. So without further ado, here's the Gaming Review of the Karbonn Smart A55.
Gaming Review
The sad news first, apps are not movable to the SD card. So larger games will have to be installed in the internal storage of about 1.27 GB. Therefore, we were able to install very few high-end games.
But we still tried Asphalt 7, GT Racing 2, Dead Trigger 2, Frontline Commando: D-day and surprisingly enough gameplay is generally smooth. Although graphics are a bit pixelated given the low-res display, the colors look vibrant and viewing angles are wide being an IPS panel. Framerates are good, consistent without any jerkiness.
Conclusion
For a phone that's available for about Rs. 3700, the Karbonn Smart A55 performs brilliantly in all the games that we tried. The display too performs well without any ghosting, freezing with good touch response. Although there is a major caveat here, the speakerphone is just too low in volume. Its barely audible if you are in a noisy environment.
All in all, Karbonn Smart A55 is good enough for playing basic games which is the the designated audience for this phone.
