Karbonn prepares for Android assault with A99, A16 and A12+ dual-core smartphones
Karbonn is preparing an all out assault on the current breed of budget dual-core Android smartphones with the A99, A16 and A12+ which are now available online. In terms of features these phones are pretty similar, all three have the same 1.3 Ghz MediaTek MT6572 processor with Mali 400 GPU, run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and have 5 megapixels primary cameras. The only difference is in display size and battery capacity alongwith design. Lets get into the details of each one of these new phones from Karbonn:
Karbonn A12+
- Display: 4.0-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels)
- Processor: 1.3 GHz MT6572 dual-core processor

- Camera: 5 MP primary camera with LED flash, 0.3MP front-facing camera

Karbonn A12+ has been priced at Rs. 5199, and is now available online.
Karbonn A16

Karbonn A99 is available for Rs. 6190, online in India.
All these devices are very similar and it seems Karbonn is trying Micromax's formula of saturating the market with many similar products in order to gain traction with buyers. Will it work? Depends on whether the devices fulfil customers' expectations and stand the brunt of time.
