HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra, Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Pro launched with 50MP 1″ variable aperture camera, 48MP periscope telephoto camera, alongside Pura 80

HUAWEI has officially launched its latest flagship smartphones in the new Pura 80 Series in China, which includes the Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and Pura 80 Ultra.

HUAWEI Pura 80 -

The HUAWEI Pura 80 features a 6.6-inch flat OLED LTPO display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2760 × 1256 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 460 PPI, and support for 1.07 billion colors within the P3 wide color gamut. The display offers a peak brightness of 3000 nits, high-frequency 1440Hz PWM dimming, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, HDR Vivid support, and is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass. The phone is 8.2mm thick, weighs 211 grams, and comes with IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, it packs 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. It is equipped with a large 5600mAh battery supporting 66W wired SuperCharge, 50W wireless fast charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. Audio is handled by stereo speakers enhanced with Huawei Histen sound effects.

On the rear, the device sports a quad-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.4–f/4.0) and OIS, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens (f/3.4) offering 5.5x optical zoom, a 13MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2), and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. It supports 4K video recording and 1080p super slow-motion. The front-facing 13MP ultra-wide autofocus camera also supports 4K video and 1080p slow-motion capture.

The Pura 80 Pro comes equipped with a 6.8-inch curved OLED display with FHD+ resolution (2848 × 1276 pixels), utilizing the same advanced display technology found in the base Pura 80. It has a slightly thicker profile at 8.3mm and weighs 219g, while still maintaining IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance.

The device is powered by a larger 5700mAh battery that supports ultra-fast 100W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 18W reverse wired charging. It includes 12GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB.

A highlight of the Pro model is its enhanced camera setup, which includes a 50MP 1-inch main sensor (f/1.6–f/4.0, OIS), a 48MP telephoto macro lens (f/2.1, OIS), a 40MP ultra-wide lens, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. It supports 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, along with 4K video recording and 1080p super slow-motion at 960fps.

The front camera is a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with autofocus. Performance is boosted by Huawei’s new Ark Engine, delivering a 36% improvement over the previous generation. Audio is provided by dual stereo speakers enhanced with Huawei Histen sound effects.

The Pura 80 Pro+ retains the same 6.8-inch curved OLED display as the Pro but upgrades to second-generation basalt-tempered Kunlun Glass for added durability. It bumps the RAM up to 16GB and is available in 512GB and 1TB storage variants. Battery capacity and charging speeds remain the same as the Pro.

One of the standout additions is dual satellite communication, combining Tiantong and Beidou systems. This enables seamless satellite connectivity, two-way messaging with image support, and smart satellite switching for emergencies.

The camera setup is identical to the Pro model, featuring the same 50MP 1-inch main sensor, 48MP telephoto macro lens, 40MP ultra-wide lens, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor.

HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro+ Specifications -

The Pura 80 Ultra retains the 6.8-inch display but is slightly heavier at 233.5g. It shares the same memory and battery specifications as the Pro+ model. The Ultra introduces a striking new design inspired by sunburst patterns, accented with gold elements to emphasize its premium imaging capabilities.

Its camera system is significantly upgraded, featuring a 50MP one-inch ultra-high dynamic range main sensor, a 50MP ultra-large telephoto lens, a 12.5MP large-sensor ultra-telephoto camera, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor.

It offers dual optical zoom levels at 3.7x and 9.4x, supports up to 100x digital zoom, and incorporates advanced sensor-shift stabilization for superior clarity. Video capabilities include 4K recording and 1080p super slow-motion. On the front, there's a 13MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus.

Software and Connectivity -

All models in the Pura 80 Series run HarmonyOS 5.1 and feature the Xiaoyi AI Assistant, offering interactive themes, enhanced privacy tools such as AI anti-peeping alerts, AI-powered file transfer (teleportation), and AI noise reduction during calls.

Connectivity options across the series include Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi 7, Star Flash communication, and two-way Beidou satellite messaging. The Pro and Ultra variants also come with dual stereo speakers and Huawei Histen sound enhancements.

HUAWEI Pura 80 will come in Velvet Gold, Green, White, Black, and pricing to be announced; available in July.
