Huawei Mate 9 Pro appears online, to sport 5.9-inch Quad-HD dual-curved display
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has surfaced online shortly after we saw the Mate 9. The high-end Mate 9 Pro flagship is expected to come with a 5.9-inch Quad-HD dual-curved display running on Android Nougat with support for DayDream VR. The bump in resolution could be specifically to support Google's VR headset as the flat Mate 9 will come with just a 1080p panel.
The Mate 9 Pro should also run on the Kirin 960 SoC which was just announced earlier this week. It packs the Mali-G71 GPU for better performance and efficiency.
It would also sport the dual Leica SUMMARIT cameras we saw on the Huawei P9 with laser-assisted autofocus, and dual-tone LED flash. According to Evan Blass (@evLeaks), the Mate 9 Pro may have 4X optical zoom for its rear camera. You can also see the fingerprint sensor at the back. There are two speaker grills at the bottom of the phone, however, one could be just for the microphone.
One thing conspicuously missing from the renders is the 3.5mm headphone jack which we saw on the Mate 9 at the top of the phone along with the IR Blaster. But you do have the USB Type-C port at the bottom and this time around you will get fast charging support as well.
Both the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are expected to be unveiled on November 3rd at an event in Munich, Germany.
