HTC Volantis with 8.9-inch display, Nvidia Tegra K1 processor pegged to become the next Nexus tablet
Amid reports of Google killing off its Nexus program, reports are coming in about the HTC Volantis, a new tablet with 8.9-inch display with a resolution of 2048x1440 pixels, which is being called the Nexus 9. According to rumored specs, the HTC Volantis will run on a Nvidia Tegra K1 (Logan) 64-bit processor with 2 GB RAM, 16/32 GB of internal storage.
Rumored specs also say that the HTC Volantis will have an 8 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization and a 3 MP front-facing camera as well with aluminium zero-gap construction, stereo front-speakers. But it might not be coming at Google I/O this week. It is also expected to carry a premium price tag of $399 for the base 16 GB model, $499 for the 32 GB variant and more than $600 for the LTE variants. We will be keeping a close eye on the HTC Volantis, even if its not a Nexus device, it might just be one of the first tablets under the new Android Silver programme.
