    HTC One A9

HTC's newest smartphone went official today. Called the HTC One A9, it comes with a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display running on a spanking new Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage with Android 6.0 Marshmallow running the scene.

There is a 13MP rear camera here with Optical Image Stabilization, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), LED flash capable of recording 1080p videos. There is a 4MP UltraPixel camera up front as well which can also record 1080p videos. Sadly, the BoomSound speakers have given way here to a fingerprint sensor just below the HTC logo at the bottom. The home button is capacitive here and cannot be pressed.

The speaker has been moved to the bottom of the device, in a very iphone-esque fashion. But there is 24-bit, 192KHz Hi-Fi DAC for studio quality audio and better fidelity even with compressed audio. The HTC One A9 comes with support for multiple 4G LTE bands across both FDD and TDD LTE technologies. You also have dual-band WiFi support, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS available on the device.

Now to keep the device thin at about 7.2mm and light at 143 grams, HTC has skimped on the battery. There is just a 2150 mAh battery on the HTC One A9, which is pretty paltry. But it does come with Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 support, so you can charge it quickly once it drains within a day.

The HTC One A9 will go on sale in first week of November and you'll have a choice of Carbon grey, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet colors to choose from. There will be an unlocked version available in the US with which you'll get 6 months free Google Music subscription, HTC Uh Oh! protection for free replacement within 1-year of purchase.
