Stop getting excited, leaked HTC A16 is just an entry-level smartphone
There was some interest generated in a HTC smartphone yesterday, when prolific leakster, Evan Blass (@evLeaks), shared press renders of the HTC A16. From the looks of it, the A16 fit into the company's Desire range of smartphone featuring BoomSound speakers which had been shrunk, a large camera module at the back and what looked like an UltraPixel camera module in the front.
Come today, another leak, now from @LlabTooFer says that the HTC A16 is just an entry-level smartphone running on the Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor with 1.5GB RAM, 5-inch 720p HD display, 8GB of expandable storage. The rear camera module may look huge, but there's just an 8MP camera there alongwith a 5MP front-facing camera. There's no information on other camera specs, like aperture, max video resolution.
The HTC A16 will come in an all plastic build and carry a 2200 mAh battery. Rumors also point to a price tag of $150 (about Rs. 10,000) which is reasonable for these specs. We will be keeping a lookout for when it becomes official here at MWC 2016.
