How to Install MIUI 8 on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Mi 4i, Mi 4, Mi Max, Redmi 2 and Others
Xiaomi has started rolling out the Global Beta ROM of MIUI 8 for some of its devices. Using this tutorial you will be able to install MIUI 8 on your Redmi Note 3, Mi 4i, Mi Max, Redmi 2 and any other Xiaomi smartphone when it becomes available.
This is the official MIUI 8 update, on some devices your data will be lost so it would be wise to backup data before you proceed. The process is easy, but as a disclaimer we will not be responsible if you brick your device or loose data. We have tested the update on several phones and it works fine. Just remember to charge your phone to atleast 50% before you begin. This update won't bring Marshmallow to your Xiaomi phone, but give if some of the features including multiple accounts.
We have also made a video to show you the steps involved:

- Method 2
- Backup your data, on some devices all data may be formatted

- Tap on "Reboot to Recovery mode", alternatively you can power off your phone and then press power + Volume Up key simultaneously
- Once in Recovery, navigate using the volume rocker and select using power key
- First choose language, move down to English using the Volume down key, select using Power.
- Then navigate to "Install update.zip to System" and Press Power
- Select Yes and press power key to begin installation
- Once done, press back and Select Wipe & Reset
- Then select Wipe Cache, press power key.
- Choose Yes, once done reboot your device.
- All done!
It will take some time for the phone to reboot, so please be patient and you can also connect the charger at this time. At first your phone may not perform that well, battery-life will take some time to settle in. Don't worry about that. Since this is a beta ROM there may be some bugs as well, so be careful about installing it on your daily driver.
